Colonel David K. Green enlisted in the US Army in 1985 with service in the 3rd Infantry Division in West Germany and was later commissioned through ROTC at the University of Kentucky as an Ordnance Officer, branch detailed as an Infantry Officer. Colonel Green has served in numerous command and staff assignments including service as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer, 187th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Company Executive Officer, 584th Maintenance Company, 101st Corps Support Group at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Commander, 716th Ordnance Company (Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)), Fort Richardson, Alaska; Assistant Professor of Military Science, Senior ROTC Instructor Group, The University of Memphis; Deputy Operations Officer, 52d Ordnance Group (EOD), Fort Gillem, Georgia; Deputy Operations Officer and XVIII Airborne Corps LNO, CJTF Troy, Baghdad, Iraq; Executive Officer, 184th Ordnance Battalion (EOD), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Executive Officer and later Commander, 184th Ordnance Battalion (EOD) and JTF Paladin-East, Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan; Commander, 184th Ordnance Battalion (EOD) (Provisional); Deputy Commanding Officer, 52d Ordnance Group (EOD), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Commander, 79th Ordnance Battalion (EOD), Fort Hood, Texas; and G3 Chief of Plans, 20th CBRNE Command, Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland.
His military and civilian education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Naval School EOD, Advanced EOD Management and Technology Course, Advanced Access and Disablement EOD Course, the Joint Nuclear EOD Course, the US Army Command and General Staff College, Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky, Master of Science Degree in Education from the Kansas State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies Degree from the US Air Force Air War College.
