Logistics Enterprise Systems Support Division

Mission

Ensure automated logistics solutions for multifunctional logistics capability gaps are identified, documented, and programmed by Materiel Developer representatives and fielded in the right quantity to the right Soldier and/or organizations. Serves as the lead for tactical CSS Logistical Information Systems (LIS), Automated Information Technology / In Transit Visibility (AIT/ITV), and  Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution development and represents the field users of those systems. The division consists of three branches: Tactical Logistics Enterprise Systems Support; Tactical Distribution Enterprise Systems Support; and Logistics Enterprise Systems Support Operations.


Functions

  • Combat developer and user representative responsible for maintaining the GCSS-Army, LIS and AIT/ITV functional requirements.
  • Serve as combat developer for functional input to Materiel Developer strategies for testing, data conversion, and sustainment support for current and emerging logistics enterprise systems.
  • Determine requirements and development of capabilities for the CSS LIS and automated logistics business systems.
  • Develop the structure, staffing, and deployment of the Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO). Provide tactics, techniques, and procedures; mission statements; assistance; and guidance to other activities and field users for the proper utilization of SASMO and other tactical logistics automation users in the force.
  • Determine the requirements for and development of AIT/ITV capabilities for the LIS and automated logistics business systems. Requirements and development must take into consideration both present LIS
    as well as emerging ERP solutions for forward and backward compatibility.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on merging new equipment and technologies into existing LIS/ERP solutions.
  • Conduct logistic conference calls to the AOR to resolve problems with the current LIS and new releases to the LIS software.
