Operations Division

Mission

Provides administration, development, delivery and support of Information Technology (IT) systems and services. The Division is composed of the Division Chief, seven Civilian Information Technology Specialists, and forty-two Contractors. The Division Chief performs general supervisory functions, personnel management support, and Division Chief specific tasks in support of HQ CASCOM and all subordinate commands. Provides management of technical and administrative subordinate employees, and technical oversight of contract personnel engaged in the various functions of the division. Duties include but are not limited to developing new methods, approaches, and procedures in the specialty areas; providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex information technology issues; interpreting information technology policies, standards and guidelines, conducting analysis and recommending resolution of complex issues affecting the specialty areas; evaluating and recommending adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering information technology services; testing and optimizing the functionality of systems, networks and data; identifying and defining business or technical requirements applied to design, development, implementation, management and support of systems and networks; ensuring optimal use of commercially-available products; evaluating proposals for the acquisition of information technology products or services; preparing and presenting reports; representing the organization in interactions with other organizations; providing Audio Visual (A/V) support; providing equipment Life-Cycle (LCR) support, and, providing technical leadership on group projects. Provides input to all aspects of COOP/disaster recovery planning, testing and execution.

Core Competencies

  • Manages life cycle replacement (LCR)
  • Executes Customer Service Work Orders; receive, and resolve over 10k work orders annually
  • Maintains accountability of all CASCOM IT equipment
  • Performs monthly cyclic audits of IT Hand Receipt
  • Maintains and issue peripheral IT hardware
  • Manages all IT hardware assets in GCSS-Army Database
  • Maintains documentation of quantities and distribution of Above-Baseline Software
  • C4IM baseline support: Manage and execute baseline service and support for CASCOM and Fort Gregg-Adams based subordinate organizations
  • C4IM above baseline support. Executes above baseline service and support for CASCOM and Fort Gregg-Adams based subordinate organizations
  • Provides printing support to CASCOM staff
  • Provides enhanced desktop support to CASCOM staff
  • Provides client administration for Microsoft desktop and laptop systems
  • Monitors CASCOM's Service Provider patching and maintenance updates
