G-3/2 Directorate of Security
Mission
Provide superior customer service to permanent party and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) personnel with outstanding security support and services developed to ensure mission readiness for Sustainment professionals.
Security Functions
- Manage the protection, designation, marking, and dissemination of classified and CUI, including oversight of classification guides, transportation of classified through couriers, and material for public release.
- Oversee personnel security clearance eligibility, initiate investigations for tier-3 and tier-5 designated positions, handle adverse information, manage access to secure systems.
- Provide support for the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) by overseeing contractors in safeguarding sensitive and classified national security information through contract documentation and ensuring compliance of security requirements in DoD contracts.
- Approve the release of information to foreign entities through the Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO) and coordinate the approval of foreign visits, through the Foreign Visit System (FVS).
- Establish and manage safeguards for information and communications security (INFOSEC and COMSEC) assets, restricted areas, their associated buildings, and electronic security systems.
- Support Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), including contract support for TS/SCI requirements, managing secure communications, and addressing security violations involving SCI.
- Supervise inquiries and investigations into security violations, particularly those involving classified or compartmented information.
- Advise the SCoE on security matters, liaise with military and government agencies, and participate in contingency planning and crisis management.
