Ralph F. Hedenberg

Brigadier General Ralph Hedenberg is from New Britain, Connecticut. He enlisted as an infantryman in the United States Army Reserve in June of 1985. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry in May of 1988 from the University of Connecticut.
BG Hedenberg has served in a variety of staff and command assignments including Rifle Platoon Leader – A/ 3-35th Infantry Battalion, Scout Platoon Leader – 2-102nd Infantry Battalion, Company Executive Officer – HHC 43rd Infantry Brigade, Aide de Camp – HQ CT Army National Guard, Infantry Company Commander – 1-102nd Infantry Battalion, Battalion S-4 – HHC 2-126 Aviation Battalion, Support Operations Officer- 143rd Forward Support Battalion, Supply and Services Officer – 143rd Support Group (Area), Garrison Commander – Connecticut Training Center, Security, Plans, and Operations Officer- 143rd Support Group (Area), Deputy Commander – 143rd Support Group (Area), Battalion Commander – 143rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, J3 – Joint Forces Headquarters (CT), G3 – Joint Forces Headquarters (CT), and Commander – 169th Regiment (Regional Training Institute). His operational assignments include: Support Operations Officer – Logistics Task Force, Task Force Eagle, Bosnia-Herzegovina; Operations Officer - Joint Area Support Group – Central (Provisional), Multi-National Force –Iraq, Baghdad, Iraq; Dual Status Commander, Joint Task Force – Connecticut, COVID-19 Response.
BG Hedenberg has graduated from multiple military schools including Infantry Officer Basic and Advance Course, Quartermaster Officer Advance Course, Command and General Staff College, Joint Combined Warfighting School – Hybrid Course, Defense Strategy Course, and the US Army War College.
BG Hedenberg earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Science in 1989 from the University of Connecticut, Storrs. He earned a Master of Arts degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA and Masters of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College in Carlisle, PA.
